Volunteer Day – 5/09/2024

5 September | 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

If you’re free this Thursday and want to donate some time to a good cause, come down to the Russell Landcare depot, 43 Matauwhi Rd (through the end of the boat club carpark), on 5th September at 9am and help the Predator Free Russell project thrive.

We’ve got two fairly simple tasks to complete:
  • Making about 2000 chew cards to help the monitoring outcomes of the Okiato/Te Wahapu elimination zone.
  • Weka-proofing our lockable bait stations for around town.

Both are easy, standing jobs and we’ll explain all you need to know on the day.

If you have a craft knife and a good pair of gloves please bring them along. We’ll provide the rest, including morning tea, lunch and excellent banter.

PS. If anyone is interested in getting involved in our next round of bird counts this month in Tapeka, please send us a DM with your email address and we’ll get in touch. It’s easy, fun work and spring is a great time to be out there as the birds are in breeding mode and calling a lot.
