RLT – Pāteke Count

9 February | 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
This February, we’re going out on the peninsula to do a Pāteke count! 🦆
Pāteke/Brown Teal are a dabbling duck that are endemic to Aotearoa, New Zealand. Since 1988, they’ve been suffering from an ongoing decline in numbers due to predators and habitat changes.
However, in areas where predator control is prioritised, their numbers have been increasing! We only know this from previous counts, just like the one coming up.
So we’re putting a call out for anyone wanting to get involved!
You can either –
1️⃣ Join us next Monday, the 9th of Feb and be a part of the count
🔍If so, please flick us a message or email 👉kerry@russelllandcare.org.nz for more details
OR
2️⃣ Let us know if you’ve seen any Pāteke around the peninsula and where
👀 If you have seen any, please send us a DM or send an email to 👉 contact@russelllandcare.org.nz
