Long Beach Track Weeding Day

We need you!

Now that the Russell Landcare Trust and the Bay of Islands Walkways Trust have planted over 700 trees for 2026 so far, we want to target weeds! Northland has so many, let’s take one step at a time. On Wednesday, 15th July, we will start dealing with weeds on the walkway from Russell to Long Beach. There are so many weeds there! Can you help? Maybe before or after your coffee at Long Beach?

This time, our focus will be on ginger! 

📅Wednesday, 15th July

⏰William will be on site from 9 am til 11 am

📍Park at the cemetery carpark and walk back towards Russell along the walkway

🪏Knives and paste provided by Russell Landcare (or bring a niwashi if you have one)

Russell Landcare wants to educate people on weeds, what to look out for, and how to best manage them, so this is an easy start!

See you on Wednesday at 9 am or 10 am – depending on whether you can spare one hour or two!
